NEW BEGINNINGS FOR BRYONY BENNETT- Katy Lilley
Bryony has inherited from her godmother. She thought maybe a few thousand
which would boost her bank balance nicely. When it turns out to be rather more
she up sticks and moves house to a village. She soon makes a friend in Maddie
who warns her that newcomers are not always welcomed by the locals as they
are seen to be “doing the youngsters out of housing”. The fact that they could
have bought is besides the point. They also think that she is hanging around
Maddie’s ex in order to get his money when nothing could be further from the
truth. This is a wonderfully relaxing read and you take to Bryony and Maddie
very quickly .Lottie however is another matter- infuriating to say the least.
That said she is very well written and you can imagine just how she would be.
A summers read, perhaps if you have just moved house, or know the
stresses of doing so.Of being new in a crowd. Of wanting acceptance for
who you are (not what). A delightful, pick-you-up read with a smile.

Blurb:

When Bryony Bennett’s godmother dies and leaves her a huge inheritance, Bryony jumps at the
chance to get away from it all and start again.
She packs up her life and moves into the (almost) idyllic Cliff Cottage…only to find that starting
over is never quite as simple as you imagine. Faced with grumpy neighbours, hostile locals
and more than her fair share of disasters, Bryony embarks on a mission to make sure her
new life is everything she wants it to be…but will she ever win over the locals and truly be
 happy in her new life?
