Little Pink Taxi (Choc Lit) by [Laval, Marie]

Little Pink Taxi- Marie Laval

Rosalind drives her little pink taxi- Love Taxi in a small village with a close knit community
in the Scottish highlands, She has lived at Raventhorn for so long she is almost part of
the family. She is part of the community and the taxi serves one and all in helping those
who can’t get around on their own- for many it is a lifeline in every sense of the word.
When she picks up a mysterious man from the airport, life is about to change - for all
the wrong reasons and even the little pink taxi is under threat. Who is after her and
why? Will Marc sell Raventhorn as he is a businessman who doesn’t see anything other
than the bottom line?  The “blurb” on this book does not do it justice. From the out,
this is so much more than the average “rom-com” which to me doesn’t do it any
favours (nothing wrong with rom-coms I might add) but I feel this is more of a
women’s fiction / contemporary fiction category. I don’t do out and out romance ,
I do enjoy comedy. It’s not a light and fluffy read- but one of a strong character
who is determined to help her community come what may. Of determination, and
spirit, of tenacity, selflessness and will power. Of taking risks and not being afraid
of pushing the boundaries. Of friendships and relationships. Being strong but
allowing others to help and knowing when to accept it. This is my first Marie
Laval read and it won’t be the last. A highly enjoyable read

Little Pink Taxi
Rosalie Heart is a well-known face in Irlwick – well, if you drive a bright pink taxi and your signature style is a pink anorak, you’re going to draw a bit of attention! But Rosalie’s company Love Taxis is more than just a gimmick – for many people in the remote Scottish village, it’s a lifeline.
Which is something that Marc Petersen will never understand. Marc’s ruthless approach to business doesn’t extend to pink taxi companies running at a loss. When he arrives in Irlwick to see to a new acquisition – Raventhorn, a rundown castle – it’s apparent he poses a threat to Rosalie’s entire existence; not just her business, but her childhood home too.
On the face of it Marc and Rosalie should loathe each other, but what they didn’t count on was somebody playing cupid …
