The Appointment- Dylan Young -Psychological thriller
Dan is an ophthalmic surgeon. He and his wife have a young son Theo. When tragedy
strikes, things are never quite the same and whilst his wife grieves quietly and decides
that life goes on, Dan is still reminded of the past every day. One day he sees a young
boy in clinic whom he suspects has something going on at the back of his eye, but needs
more tests to be certain. The mother is very stern with the child, something she isn’t
when dealing with his sister and threatens him with his father. Dan finds the father in
his garden telling him in no uncertain terms to leave well alone. Dan feels that the
child has a right to be examined and treated and take it further, all the while others are
wondering if this has anything to do with Theo in Dan’s head.OMG! I felt for Dan and
his concern as well as professional concern and conduct about the child William’s
condition and the difficult path against non evidence based medicine that some are
determined to follow. I had to keep turning to find out what happened next, so well
is the tension written and the characters portrayed.A book of torment and revenge,
a cleverly thought out plot and one to keep you thinking. This is my first book by
Dylan Jones and won’t be the last.

The Appointment blurb He’s a doctor…but can you trust him?   With his marriage collapsing and grief-stricken following the death of his baby son, surgeon
Dan Lewis is struggling to make sense of it all.  His work is his lifeline. But when he fixates on a child patient he thinks has a potentially
lethal disease, no one believes the diagnosis. They all think he’s losing his mind. When one of Dan’s critics is senselessly murdered and the evidence points to the damaged
doctor as the prime suspect, his bad situation becomes desperate.  But there’s a dark secret linking the ill child and the murder victim. One that no one other
than Dan can see.  Can he overcome his paralyzing despair to reveal the truth and clear himself?  And if he does, will he be in time to save an innocent child from a terrifying fate?

Brief Bio

Dylan Young grew up in a mining village in South Wales before boarding a train for London. A 35-year career in the NHS followed, the last 27 as a consultant ophthalmologist. Three dark psychological thrillers for Random House emerged in the late nineties and over the last decade, under different pseudonyms, he’s written children’s books and an adult contemporary fantasy series. But retiring from the NHS has allowed Dylan to spend (even) more time in his writing office — a shed in the garden.
