Under your Skin- Rose McClelland-psychological thriller
"Where is Hannah?"

Hannah, Kyle's long-suffering wife, has gone missing. He has been abusing and demeaning
her from the time they got married. Julia meets Kyle through the local search for Hannah
and they quickly become friends and more, although Julia is very aware that Kyle has a
missing potentially dead wife. D.S Kelly Lawlor is part of the police team tasked with
looking for Hannah and being single is a little jealous of the members of the team who
are happily married and settled, but she can see that it gives her the freedom and flexibility
she requires to have to answer to anyone at home. Julia after distancing herself from Kyle
now begins to see a different side to him and discovers a card in a drawer whilst looking
for something else. Could this be a clue not only to where Hannah may be but as to what
Kyle is really like? This is a disturbing subject handled very well. There are the odd
scenes of domestic abuse and that underlying tone of coercive control that anyone who
has gone through anything like this will be more than aware of. Each chapter comes from
different characters- Julia, Kyle, Hannah, Kate (the girlfriend of Hannhas work colleague) and
Kelly. A debut psychological thriller(the author usually writes chick-lit) which is
stunning and kept me within the pages wanting more. A highly enjoyable captivating read.
