Boomerville at Ballymegille by Caroline James- Romantic Comedy / Women’s fictionl
“Boomerville is back!”
Hattie is back at Boomerville after sadly losing her husband. This is perfect timing as Julia is
off to Ireland to begin a new Boomerville Hotel over there, the love of her own life having
gone back to the USA. Melissa has arrived at the Cumbria location to escape her mercurial
and violent husband Malcolm, finally having found the courage to leave him. Bill is a rather
angry troubled soul and even those who are kind to him, he really doesn’t want anything to
do with them. He constantly hears his mother's toxic voice in his head telling him he is no
good and will never amount to anything. Anyone who has suffered this will totally understand
the devastating effect someone can have even from a distance- coercive control. This to m
e is rather more than “just” a rom com book (that's not putting anything down- far from it).
It has a message perhaps for many that life goes on and making the best of our own
situations whatever they maybe. A book with feeling and one of warmth and hope.
A tear and a smile and perhaps a reflection on life. A highly enjoyable read.
