The Ice Daughters- D.E White- Crime

A fire, a body and a missing woman start off the investigation. The body is frozen,

the fire a part of a remote farm and the missing woman is the one who called the

emergency services leaving her two daughters at the farm. Then there is a similar

incident. Hypothermia appears to be a link for some strange reason- but why are

the women also missing? DC Dove Milson and the team have their work cut out

as each clue leads to a dead end- sometimes literally. Dove has her own issues

that she is finally beginning to put to rest. This is the second in the series and

although will stand alone the characters background will make more sense if

the first (Glass Dolls) has also been read. I really enjoy these books- there's a

good solid plot line that keeps the grey matter active and characters that you

take to with enough background story to make it realistic without detracting

from the main story line and also a smile along the way. Dove is a strong

female protagonist and comes across very well- someone you would not only

trust but could have a laugh with too. A wonderful read, a brilliant series

. I very much look forward to the next in the series.

THE ICE DAUGHTERS (Detective Dove Milson #2) by D.E. White

AS THE TEMPERATURE DROPS THE BODY COUNT RISES

Firefighters race to put out a blaze at a remote farm-house, only to discover two young girls alone in the house.

Their mother is gone — and in her place is the dead body of a man, frozen into a foetal position. Two chess pieces made of ice are arranged on her doorstep. Then it happens again. A missing woman. A frozen body. Chess pieces made of ice.

DC Dove Milson and her team are on the case, but time is running out to stop the killer. Then ice sculptures are left outside her front door.

Is this check or checkmate?

THE ICE DAUGHTERS is the utterly gripping follow-up to GLASS DOLLS in D.E. White’s bestselling Detective Dove Milson series.
