Dead Inside- Noelle Holton- Crime

Lucy is married to Patrick- out of work and a law unto thimself. She ralises she should know better as she works as a probation officer where her speciality is domestic abuse- something she is personally familiar with. Maggie has just joined the domestic abuse and homicide unit to give her a much needed break from the serious crime squad. so much for a break as there are soon two murders linked to abuse to deal with.

I quickly got into this. There is a wonderful skill of writing and depth of character that comes across quickly so that I took to both Maggie and Lucy. albeit thinking how naive the latter was. Noelle has a talent for getting the reader into the plot and keeping the pages turning, just how I like it. Each chapter may bring the plot closer but then another small twist ot add into the mix. A brilliantly well thought out plot , one very entertaining read.

Blurb: "When three domestic abuse offenders are found beaten to death, DC Maggie Jamieson knows she is facing her toughest case yet.

The police suspect that Probation Officer Lucy Sherwood – who is connected to all three victims – is hiding a dark secret. Then a fourth domestic abuser is brutally murdered. And he is Lucy’s husband.

Now the finger of suspicion points at Lucy and the police are running out of time. Can Maggie and her team solve the murders before another person dies? And is Lucy really a cold-blooded killer?
