Many of us know the feeling when moving house into a new area- its traumatic to say the very least. Nell, her husband Barney and his father have moved to Willowbrook. Nell soon gets swept up in the local shop by the Rev Bev for a new project and Barney, trying to get out of doing his disastrous attempts at DIY finds a cafe where his skills may be put to better use. The saga louts are around causing mayhem as usual but as ever with good hearts. Are Nell and Barney going their separate ways or can they sort things out once and for all?

I really enjoyed this. It's a life affirming read with messages for all of us. Taking the most of every opportunity and when life throws lemons- make lemonade as you never know what's around the corner- it could be something wonderful if you let it. I liked Nell and her positive attitude to life and especially the Rev Bev who I’d love to know in real life! A tonic for the soul that left me with more than a smile.

The peaceful village of Willowbrook seems to be the ideal place for a new lease of life – at least according to Nell’s husband, Barney. With an empty nest and coming towards retirement, he’s persuaded her to try country living. Their cottage even has an annexe that’s perfect for Barney’s widowed father, Frank.

Andorra Pett and the Oort Cloud- Cafe- Richard Dee-  4* Andi has landed on a mining station a week away from Mars. She takes on the “ucky strike cafe” (the “L” fell off) - its previous owner having disappeared leaving outstanding debts. Her business partner Cy is right behind her. Much to her surprise they find the previous guy in the freezer - in a body bag. Being on a different planet means there are rules about refuse and hence they decide to leave him there having little choice in the matter. Andi wants to find out more about a secret book that he had and who murdered him. This is a wonderful, lighthearted read to make you smile. Characters that are well portrayed and you take to easily. Descriptions are vivid and you can easily picture “the planet” in your minds eye. An excellent plot line with a little humour and even romance along the way. A highly enjoyable read. Human has a new girlfriend and it’s a nervous time when Kevin is taken to be introduced to her dog. Will he behave or let them both down? This is written in the first person from the humans point of view and tells of outings they have such as a trip back to London after a day out,  but turned into an adventure due to running out of petrol. From meeting Amy Winehouse to poor Kevin being kicked there are the highs and lows of their lives. This is a fun,  light hearted read especially for any dog lover.  Although told from the human perspective, it's told with Kevin at the heart of things.
