Close to You

Close to you- Kerry Wilkinson Psychological thriller
Morgan is a successful personal trainer. When she goes to an awards ceremony and
a picture is taken she thinks she recognises someone in the back of the photograph.
That someone looks very much like her husband David who disappeared two years
ago. He was rather secretive about some things and Morgan later discovered told
lies after lies. When things go missing and the only person who would know about
certain things is David, Morgan starts to question herself. It can’t be David can it?
It can’t be as she herself killed him two years ago. This one gripped me very
quickly- always a good sign. Chapters alternate between now and before David
was killed to give us the background of their relationship and what happened.
I took to Morgan (despite what had happened) and how things were panning
out. Her critical mother which many daughters will understand. I read this in a
day- it hooked me and kept me there- always a sign of good writing, interesting
characters and a solid plot. This is my first book by this author and won’t be
the last. A highly recommended read.

Book Description:

I pinch the screen to zoom until I’m staring at the face of a ghost. A man with very short hair, staring directly at the camera with piercing brown eyes.

He is as he was when I last saw him: wrinkles around the corners of the eyes and a knowing smirk. That’s the expression I see when I can’t sleep.

My body tenses. It can’t be him. It’s not my ex-husband. It’s not David.

I know that better than anyone because he didn’t walk out on me.

He didn’t disappear two years ago and he’s not a missing person.

I know that for a fact because I’m the one who killed him.

A brilliantly twisty thriller which will have fans of The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl absolutely gripped.
