Finding Juliet- Elizabeth McGovern - Family life/romantic comedy
James has been split from KAte for a while and she is pushing him to sort out a divorce.
He works self employed as a photographer and is rather short of cash but also doesn’t
want to upset the apple cart where Kate is concerned. James dates Juliet many years
ago, fifteen if he remembers correctly so when he sees her but her hand passes through
his and he gets an electric type shock at the same time, he wonders what on earth is
going on. He can talk to Juliet however she knows very little about herself and not why
she is there. She doesn’t even think that she is dead. She persuades James to get a
P. I to find the real her and meanwhile is stuck following James around. This is one of
those books that you can’t help smiling at. It’s a look at life from a different perspective
and how maybe we shouldn’t be rushing through everything we do, but stop a while
and yes smell the coffee and the flowers and appreciate those around us.
I found this quite emotional (in a good way) at the end. Beautiful, just beautiful
