Second Chances for Lottie Botte- Kate Lilley-Women’s contemporary fiction/romcom
Lottie and Donald have drifted apart. So much so that they really don’t see eye to eye
anymore along with the fact that he is blatantly having an affair with his PA. Lottie has
been dictated to by him and his family since the day they married. When he announces
that their house has sold and they must move out, Lottie stands her ground and decides
to do things her own way rather than yet again be dictated to by a belligerent husband.
Lottie finds her true self rather than the snotty, grotty Lottie she had hidden behind
and finds that life has a way of making you see things differently. I liked Lottie. I think
for many of us we have had times when we have hidden behind a type of persona for
one reason or another not daring to reveal our true selves fearing we are too weak or
vulnerable perhaps. In Lotties case when the real her surfaced she discovered things
she never realised including about herself in a very good way.  A story of getting ove
r a hill, a divorce in this case and of finding out who the real person is.
A feel good read to make you smile.
