She Said, Three Said - David Lyons-psychological thriller

"She Said, Three Said .....Who will you believe?"

Jason and his two friends are on a rare night out. Jason is a celebrity having been a

professional footballer for  a major club. They share a secret from over twenty years

ago. Sabrina is technically working. She is waiting for a text before meeting her mark

for the night. Alternate chapters take us to the start of the discussion of the twelve

jury members, the trial having already lasted five weeks. Other chapters are from the

perspective of the three men and from Sabrina herself so that we get all sides of the

story. Thejury  have to decide if the group are guilty or not of raping Sabrina without

reaonable doubt. Oooh!! I quickly got into this. There is a wonderful air of tension in

both scenarios- the jury debate and the events of the evening leading to the alleged

rape. That working out of who is telling the truth (or not) and putting the two

together. A book where the story leads and not the characters in this case. The jury

members are known by number(although we get a brief description  as to who

they are) as they felt that way it was less personalised- a clever thread. A tough

subject dealt with sensitively, a book to leave you reeling. I won’t say too much

as I don’t want to spoil anything. but certainly one to think about. Brilliant.
