The Paramedics Daughter

The Paramedics Daughter by Tara Lyons- psychological thriller

I won this book and am so very glad I did, it's a real cracker of a story. Abi lives and works in London as a paramedic. Her daughter Rose whom she brought up single handedly is in Brighton at university. Abi and her partner Adele get a shout to a terrorist incident and she misses a call from Rose who is no doubt understandably worried having heard things about the incident on the news. When things cool down and Abi finally finds her phone she can’t get hold of Rose who is normally constantly on social media and speaks to her mother pretty much daily. Abi goes to Brighton to try and find her daughter but finds much more than she ever anticipated. Where is Rose and can Abi keep her secrets in the past where she thinks they firmly belong?

OMG! A read I really didn't want to put down and was one of those “ just one more chapter”. I raced through this. It's stunningly written and I couldn't help but feel for Abi despite her putting herself in knots but we all do what we think is right at the time perhaps? There’s a gamut of emotions and a very cleverly crafted tension between the pages.
