One of Us Is Lying: A totally gripping psychological thriller with a brilliant twist

One of Us is Lying- Shalini Boland-Psychological thriller
"Mummy , why did you kill someone?"
Tia’s daughter is distraught at school. It turns out that some older boys had been saying
things about Tia- that she killed someone, something she denies. Tia’s friend Fiona runs
a successful interior design business and is horrified when two representatives from
HMRC appear to do a full audit. She has been rather disorganised recently and not opened
some of her post- letters that would have given her ample warning. She is alarmed at what
is happening and more to the point why? Tia’s other long time friend Kelly found a young
woman in her garden looking very upset and apparently hiding from someone. She takes
her in for food and shelter as she is loathed to involve the police for some reason. Who is
she and what is Sophie running from? When Tia gets a package of pictures she doesn’t
remember it appears that someone is determined to ruin her life but why? Each of them
appear to have their own secrets and occasional chapters take us back in time to where
something else was going on. Oooh!! Shalini has done it again! That tension, the
tantalising nuggets that are carefully and cleverly woven through the story without
giving too much away. Each of the three main characters having her own nuance,
that “je ne sais quoi”  that casts just a slight shadow. One to tease and tantalise
you, bewitch you and captivate you. Another stunning read from the very
talented Shalini. Boy has she done it again!.
