The Christmas Spirit by Susan Buchanan **GIVEAWAY*****
Natalie has arrived in the small town of Winstanton, north of Glasgow in order to
caretake “Sugar n Spice” bakery and cafe as its current incumbent is having to have
an operation and recuperate for several weeks. Natalie also has her own secret
agenda- to find four special people. We know nothing more about this than the
one bare fact. She is on her own in the bakery due to the assistant also being off
and so she soon employs Jacob  who despite having wealthy parents is desperate
for a job. He takes to the job like a duck to water and loves the interaction with
the customers. Sophie has a battleaxe boss and comes in for cake and respite.
Stanley Winters is missing his recently deceased wife Edie and is feeling a little
lonely. Rebecca has just split up from Ethan having realised he was never the
man she thought he was and is seeing his true colours, however she is finding
it difficult trying to find somewhere decent to live that she can afford.
This is a story of characters and how little things can mean so much. Of differing
lives that can interact when on the surface they are worlds apart. One to lift
your spirits and believe in the good in people. Most people are kind- it’s just
the few that spoil it for the rest. Go on, smile at someone today- you might
just make their day! :) I smiled , I almost cried.
A poignant , truly wonderful seasonal read.
