The Importance of Being Aisling -Emer McLysaght & Sarah Breen
Aisling is back with her inimitable take on life and true Irish spirit. Think Bridget Jones
hits Ireland with all its traditions of life. The Irish god fearing Mammy, the press (to put
things in- think cupboard) and those wonderful lilts and turns of phrases. This is the
second in the series but happily stands alone. That said why miss out on the first
highly amusing entertaining read?(Oh My god What a Complete Aisling) This time
we find Aisling having worked at her company for many years and just before
Christmas (Isn’t it always the way?) she and everyone else are made redundant as
they are closing the Dublin branch totally. She is hoping to get some sort of good
payoff as others have before but due to the holidays won’t find anything out until
the new year. She is back with boyfriend John but still not sure whether he is
“the one”. Aisling is the type to never use 5 words when 500 will do. You get the
idea- and she tells us as it is with everything and everyone. You can’t help but
love Aisling and her infectious love of life. She has her moments as we all do but
overall she is a very positive light that we all need in our lives. I think I smiled on
almost every page. A real feelgood pick-me-up read that will leave you with a
smile and maybe a different look on life. Love Aisling!
