The Ticklemore Christmas Toy Shop by Liz Davies- Holiday fiction/romantic comedy

A book to warm your heart anytime of year. Alfred has had to move out of his home

to live with his rather strict newly retired headmistress daughter as he has had

a couple of falls and is starting to  forget things. He really doesn’t believe he

is anywhere near as bad as what she thinks but doesn't appear to have much

choice in the matter. One day he takes himself off to Bookylicious the local

bookshop/cafe and Hattie comes in his path. Being of similar age (but not

disposition!) Hattie strikes up a conversation with him and as is her want asks him

lots of questions which he really doesn't want to answer. She feels he has

arrived for a reason and so begins project Alfred- to sort him out and get

things from his former home before they are put into a skip. Alfred makes

toys- or he did until his wife passed away. Scraps of wood made into

beautiful toys just to keep himself busy and they have sat in his shed ever

since. Hattie mentions this to a shop owner and the plan for the Ticklemore

toy shop is hatched. I loved this. It's a hug in a book and restores the faith

in human nature and also that being of more mature years doesn't mean

you are either daft or redundant- far from it. I loved Alfred and Hattie-

although would not wish to be on the wrong side of her! A wonderful

book (that encouraged me to drink hot chocolate) and one to leave you

with a warm feeling inside- with or without the hot choc!

The Ticklemore Christmas Toy Shop
You’re never too old to fall in love… There is a disturbance in the force and octogenarian Hattie Jenkins can feel it in her water.
Still active and spritely, she guesses that the miserable-looking gentleman sitting morosely
in the café where she works, might be the reason. Widowed Alfred Miller has recently moved in with his daughter because she is worried
that he’s becoming too frail and forgetful to look after himself. And he’s not in the least bit happy about it, especially since his home is soon be cleared and sold. But when he enlists Hattie’s help to save some of his precious belongings, he doesn’t realise
that Hattie’s mission is to save more than a few sticks of furniture. She’s on a mission to save him, too.

Author Bio – Liz Davies writes feel-good, light-hearted stories with a hefty dose of romance, a smattering of humour, and a great deal of love. She’s married to her best friend, has one grown-up daughter, and when she isn’t scribbling
away in the notepad she carries with her everywhere (just in case inspiration strikes), you’ll
find her searching for that perfect pair of shoes. She loves to cook but isn’t very good at it,
and loves to eat - she’s much better at that! Liz also enjoys walking (preferably on the flat), cycling (also on the flat), and lots of sitting around in the garden on warm, sunny days. She currently lives with her family in Wales, but would ideally love to buy a camper can
and travel the world in it. Social Media Links – Website: https://lizdaviesauthor.wixsite.com/home Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LizDaviesAuthor1 Twitter https://twitter.com/lizdaviesauthor
