Right beside you-(Maggie Turner book 2)   Helen Pryke- Crime

Maggie is getting letters and scares about something she did years ago. She has

done many investigative reports in her role as a journalist but someone wants

revenge for her “ruining their lives” . A senior policeman lost his job as he was

in the pocket of a gang.  One of Maggie's investigations was on this same gang

- the lead member Pete came out of prison having served twelve years and

was then put in a wheelchair by other gang members.Someone wants

revenge but we don’t know who- someone close to Pete. Another cleverly

crafted well thought out plot and one to keep the pages turning.

I loved the relationship between Maggie and Sally- that tender care and

frisson but with a touch of lightening too. There is excellent camaraderie in

the characters and that sense of justice whatever is thrown at them and

you can’t help but will them on. This is the second in the series featuring

Maggie and will stand alone- then again why miss out on another 5* read?

(see my review of the Lost Girls). A brilliant, highly entertaining read

and I hope there will be more to come from Maggie and Sally.
