This at first sight appears to be 2 books- one about a crime 24 years ago and then another about a private investigator. They do merge and cleverly so at that. This was my first Stephen Edgar novel and it kept me within the pages as I wanted to know the conclusion. A good plot with likeable characters even if they do cross the line at times.
