Destiny- Patricia Dixon- Womens fiction

Oh heck! We begin at Anna’s wedding to Daniel. Those of us who are fortunate enough to
have found true love the second time around (and maybe a difficult past) will truly engage
with Anna. Surrounded by her special people and one last minute arrival, she goes down
the aisle. I’m not 22% in yet and in tears twice. One at the arrival and two at Daniels words
“ Shall we begin our forever” . Blub… and  I’m really not a romantic at heart or a blubber
!I can’t even read what I’ve put without starting blubbing again. Oh Trish you have such
a wonderful say with words that makes this so emotive. Next we have Grace. After the
first rush of love she and Max are now a distance relationship and when he keeps being
distracted and then arriving late her mind goes over and over his “distances”. Is there
something or someone he is keeping from her? Again, anyone who has been in that type
of relationship will understand the frailty of mind that can so easily happen when the brain
takes itself on a one way trip downwards. Trish has captured this perfectly as only
someone who has been there can with the literary genius to convey to the reader exactly
the turmoil and emotions involved. Next is Ruby- this one made my heart sing. Ruby had
a hard time in the past due to her ex Marcus. Now she is happily remarried but Marcus
wants his children despite one disliking him and one not really knowing him other than that
he makes everyone sad and upset when he is around. I won’t spoil anything other than to
say the innocence and honesty of youth is a real gem and so made me smile. Setting
someone free is pure gold and again many of us understand that in one form or another.
Last but not least is Barbara’s story. Oh boy. I blubed again. Memories of a special
someone. When I read that it actually happened (‘Im not giving anything away) I was
in bits. How wonderful and poignant. A wonderful,  beautiful story. Thank you Trish.
This book has taken me through several emotions and left me with a light and hope.
A truly moving read. 10* if I could

Destiny blurb In this collection of short stories we make a return trip to the Loire, catching up with old friends
and finding out what life has had in store for Anna and Daniel, Grace and Max, and Ruby and Rosie. After visiting all of your favourite characters it's time to meet a brand new family in A Christmas
Tale, an extra story written especially for the holiday season. Barbara and Ned are spending the festivities away from their children and rather unruly
grandchildren, relaxing in their wintry countryside home whilst avoiding the hustle and
bustle of Christmas in England. Despite escaping to France, both know they have a special task to perform, keeping a
solemn promise and saying goodbye to loved ones, once and for all. This is a magical tale, recaptures the innocence of childhood Christmases, embracing
the spirit of the season and accepting the precious gift of abiding love.

Author Bio Patricia Dixon was born in Manchester where she still lives with her husband. They have
two grown up children and one grandson.  Ignoring her high school reports and possibly sound advice from teachers, Patricia shunned
the world of academia and instead, stubbornly pursued a career in fashion. Once the sparkle
of London life wore off she returned north and embarked on a new adventure, that of
motherhood.  Now, almost thirty years later she has acquiesced to the wise words of her elders and
turned her hand to writing. Patricia has written a total of eight novels, the latest is due
for release in March 2019.
