Cassie works in event management in London and loves the glamorous life… apart
from the long hours, constant phone calls and when things go wrong. When she is
fired from her job she arrives back at her parents who are so very proud of their
successful daughter that she daren’t tell them the truth. This is the story of her
sorting herself out and realising that being happy is a big part of life with all it’s
ups and downs. A feel good story that will make you smile with some wonderful
scenes and larger than life characters. This is my first Karen Clarke book and it
won’t  be my last. If you want a seaside read, perhaps a holiday read then this
could be the book for you. A highly enjoyable read.

She takes on the “ucky strike cafe” (the “L” fell off) - its previous owner having disappeared leaving outstanding debts. Her business partner Cy is right behind her. Much to her surprise they find the previous guy in the freezer - in a body bag. Holmes, Marple and Poe are PI’s and have just started their own agency together. Each one has particular talents although all are highly attuned to finding out the whys and wherefores to solve a crime. Holmes for example is hyperosmic and can detect scents amongst the normal ones the rest of us can. Are they their real names? Of that we are not sure but what we can be certain of is that they are good at their job, very good and the police department calls them in when things are starting to get beyond them or where they would rather not be involved.
